I. Introductory (full-day) Training Course for new IT representatives without previous technical knowledge / with previous technical knowledge
- What responsibilities do I have as an IT representative?
- Who supports me in fulfilling my tasks and how?
- How are Frankfurt school IT networks organized?
- What rules exist for the different networks?
- What kind of network is suitable for my purposes?
- What techniques of error diagnosis are there?
- What possibilities for resolving problems and issues do I have?
Introduction of fraLine services: how to use the different support services; practical introduction to the communication and documentation tool "fraDesk", tools for error tracking and diagnosis, tasks of IT representatives including tips from experienced IT representatives;
Afternoon Program:
networks in Frankfurt schools; security aspects and restrictions; content-filtering-systems; instruments for situational teaching; problem of heterogeneous devices and software; information on the practical workshops (1 to 5) and other support services for IT representatives and teachers (e.g. educational-technical classroom assistance).

II. Modules / Afternoon workshops for experienced or new IT representatives (14.00-17.00)
With the help of these modules IT representatives can specifically cover their personal needs for further training. For new IT representatives we recommend taking the "Introductory Training Course for IT Representatives" as well as all subsequent practical workshop modules. All workshop modules can also be booked individually and do not exclusively aim at inexperienced IT representatives. Modules can be combined as required.
Every module is accredited by the "Institut für Qualitätsentwicklung" (Institute for Quality Development), participants are rewarded with 5 postgraduate education points. Since the largely interactive workshops require small group sizes (5 to 10 participants) we recommend to sign up early.
Data has to be secured regularly. What possibilities of protection against data loss do I have?
You will get to know different security strategies as well as advantages and disadvantages of a number of methods and media. You will also receive a lot of practical tips.

2. School network, internet connection and communication server
Getting acquainted with the "pedagogical network" (school network) of the city of Frankfurt as well as with the communication server and its services; how to use the communication server within the school intranet, to communicate across networks, and to use common recourses (e.g. file-server).

Who has access to what kind of data? - how to prevent students form accessing other students´ data (e.g. to prevent sabotage or for exams); how to set up a virtual classroom and to create folders for defined user groups (home drives, classes, project groups etc.); how to lock down or unlock access for others (possibilities and restrictions of shares); tips and exercises on aspects of folders and shares for the school intranet.
